The Word "Cool"

The word “cool” means positive astonishment. I use the word “cool” to express my surprise towards new features on technology. For example, when the feature of voice recognition came out on a phone, I expressed myself and said, “This is so cool,” because I realized that the phone can perform tasks by using just my voice, and to me this was a joyful surprise. Furthermore, when I discovered a new feature in a car, such as a rear-view camera, I was so surprised that I said, “Cool, you are able to see the road when reversing!” Also, when I realized that my computer asks for a fingerprint as a password, I said, “Wow that is such a cool feature.”  For these reasons to me the word “cool” means positive astonishment, is a way to express how I feel towards new features on technology.

Resolution?

The resolutions are meant to improve or change something that we are not quite happy with. However, not many of us who decide to have some resolutions accomplish them. It is easy to create a plan, but it is not easy to follow it. In my case I am not following the resolutions I have created step by step, but, why? Well I have to say not everything that you planned get accomplished the way you want.  There is always a circumstance that makes us prevent or delay in accomplishing our goals; having said that it does not mean that I am not putting all my efforts in my studies.  I am just not following my New Year resolution step by step of taking advantage of the help the campus offers, or study in a quiet environment.   However, I am putting all my efforts in my studies, so I can earn good grades.

Writting

One part that I enjoy about writing an essay it is revising it. The reason I like this part is because I am finally done with the hardest part for me, which is gathering ideas, planning and drafting. Revising the essay helps me emphasize my main points and ideas I wanted to express on an essay.

However, academic writing it’s not my favorite, although I think it is important to know how to write academically. I like free writing about important events that happened in mi life. Putting all my ideas and opinions about a subject it is like freeing my mind and letting myself go. I think free writing about events that happened in my life could come out as a very strong essay.  I know what details and what ideas I will have to put on my paper.  It is different than academic essay, because I don’t have to worry about having the perfect paper that follows every particular detail that is written in the assignment sheet.  Drafting my paper over and over again looking with a magnifying glass for the minimum mistake makes it frustrating, and sometimes you lose the meaning of what you are trying to say.

DEADLINE Stressful as it Sounds

To some college students and specially me the word DEADLINE itself is already stressful.  However leaving my assignments for the last minute is even more stressful. I have to be honest and say that I am not a person who completes my work ahead or before the deadline. I am always procrastinating and then rushing to turn in my work, however if I think if do not have that pressure of a deadline on me; then maybe I would not be able to complete my work on time.  I might rush or I leave things for the last minute, but I always manage to complete my work and turn it in. So this semester I decided that I will change my ways of addressing this. It all has to do with organization. I will be more organized, and follow my organization pattern to accomplish all my assignments even before the deadline.  Maybe then the word deadline will not be as stressful as it is now.
